EURO
EURO EURO EURO EURO
For
the first three years, the Euro will be a phantom currency,
on paper only. Stock exchanges will trade in Euro, and large
businesses will keep track of finances in the Euro. Euro
notes and coins won't enter circulation until 2002. You
can however buy Euro traveler's checks after Jan. 1. 1999.
The advantages are that both tourists and the local residents
can in an easy way compare prices across borders, and as
a tourist you do not have to spend money in commissions
at local change stations. Shops will display the price in
the local currency as well as the Euro price. There are
seven bank notes, in denominations of 500, 200,100, 50,
20, 10 and five Euro, and there are eight coins denominated
in cents.

RECIPES FROM AROUND THE WORLD
As in the previous new letter this recipe is submitted by
Wendy Rae Zaritsky, co-founder of the Heall Family at http://www.heall.com/
This
is the second of recipes taken from Wendy's new book, Foods
for Life Essential Guidebook : Protect Your Heart with Body,
Mind, and Spirit Foods.
Thanks Wendy.
Karmic
Kasha Varnishkas
This
is the East Indian counterpart of a tortilla. As part of
the staple of the diet in India, people eat Chappatis often,
using them to scoop the food from their plates, instead
of using utensils as we do in the West. These are one of
my favorite things to make because I always have childlike
wonder when I watch unleavened dough bubble and become something
it wasn't when I started. Not only fun and fast to make,
but delicious and nutritious! This is a great activity to
involve family members in the joy of cooking.
- 2
onions, chopped
- 1
c. kasha (buckwheat groats)
- 1/8
c. olive oil
- 2
c. boiling water
- 1/4
lb. pasta of choice
- 1
t. sea salt
- 1
t. kelp (seaweed)
- 1
t. black pepper
- 2
t. Liquid Braggs Amino Acids
- 3
T. Butter Buds
- 8
oz. mushrooms, chopped
1.
Sauté the onions in the olive oil until translucent.
Add the mushrooms and sauté until tender.
2. Add the water and simmer until all the water is absorbed
and the groats are tender.
3. Boil the pasta as directed on the product package. Drain
pasta and set aside.
4. Mix together all the remaining ingredients and season
to taste. Serves 4.

Check

Jill Ruttenberg a writer, herbalist and founder of Red Mt.
Remedies, makers of herbal kits for home and travel. "Family
vacations and getaways can be great fun, and are the memory-makers
of childhood. But let's face it: there's no such thing as
a stress-free trip with children. Changes in our routine
can make us humans quite anxious. Here are some valuable
hints, some of them learned the hard way, to help smooth

are considered late
You can now be left behind if you

What airline will follow next with this rule??
