Day 1 Oct 06 USA – Guangzhou
Depart on your transpacific flight for Guangzhou, China’s “Flower City”.

Day 2 Oct 07 Cross the International Dateline

Day 3 Oct 08 Guangzhou
Arrive in Guangzhou in the morning. Meet and greet by Cartan’s local representative. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before your city tour that includes the Chen Family Temple and Sun Yat Sen’s Memorial Hall. Tonight’s welcome dinner reception features a roasted pig banquet. (L/D)

Day 4 Oct 09 Guangzhou – Zhangjiajie
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Continue your city tour with a visit at the 72 Martyrs Mausoleum at Huanghuagang and the Liurong Temple. After lunch, transfer to the airport for a short flight to Zhangjiajie. Transfer to the hotel to check in before dinner at a local restaurant. (B/L/D)

Day 5 Oct 10 Zhangjiajie
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. The entire day is spent visiting the Wulingyuan Scenic Area that consists of the first Zhangjiajie National Forest Park , Suoxi Gully and Emperor Mountain. The natural ecological environment features rare quartz sandstones surrounded by pavilions, bridges, caves, lakes and waterfalls. Enjoy the serenity of this majestic scenery that combines the beauty of Guilin, the magnificence of Tai Mountain, the queerness of Huang Mountain, and the peril of Hua Mountain. (B/L/D)

Day 6 Oct 11 Zhangjiajie
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. The vastness of this area (369 square km) cannot be seen in one day. So we dedicate another day viewing other areas of this region, the highlight at the Yellow Dragon Cave and Tianmen Mountain. Tonight’s dinner features local Hunnan cuisine. (B/L/D)

Day 7 Oct 12 Zhangjiajie – Changsha – Chengdu
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Changsha, the capital of Hunnan Province, by coach. This ancient city has a history of more than 3,000 years. A brief city tour takes you to visit the Mawangdui Tombs and the Yuelu Academy of Classical Learning. Board an afternoon flight for Chengdu. Sichuan cuisine is featured for tonight’s dinner. (B/L/D)

Day 8 Oct 13 Chengdu – Panda Reserve Base Chengdu
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Today’s excursion takes you to the Panda Reserve base where you will have the opportunity to view China’s national animal in their natural habitat. The achievements of the Research facility to breed endangered giant pandas show the dedication and willingness of the Chinese government for environmental protection. (B/L/D)

 

Day 9 Oct 14 Chengdu – Jiuzhaigou – Huanglong
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Wanjiang Tower before transferring to the airport for a short flight to Jiuzhaigou. Travel to Huanglong by coach. Check into the hotel upon your arrival. You will have some free time to relax before dinner. (B/L/D)

Day 10 Oct 15 Huanglong – Jiuzhaigou
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. The city is located in the southern part of the Mishan Mountain, famous for its colorful pools of water formed by calcite deposits. Visit the Yellow Dragon Gully, a diverse forest eco-system with snow-capped peaks, waterfalls and hot springs. Proceed to Jiuzhaigou, the “fairyland” of China. The name translates to “valley of nine villages.” This nature reserve in the northern Sichuan Province is known for its multi-level waterfalls and colorful lakes. An entire roasted lamb is featured for tonight’s dinner. (B/L/D)

Day 11 Oct 16Jiuzhaigou
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. You will have the entire day visiting the main scenic spots of the three valleys that form Y shape. Five Flower Lake in the Rize Gully is a shallow multi-colored lake where you can see criss-crossed ancient fallen tree trunks in the bed of the lake. Five Color Pond in
the Zechawa Gully is one of the smallest but most spectacular bodies of water in Jiuzhaigou. During your afternoon visit to a Tibetan Village, you will be entertained by a folklore dance show. (B/L/D)

Day 12 Oct 17 Jiuzhaigou – Chengdu – Emeishan
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Chengdu. After lunch at a local restaurant, travel to Emeishan by coach. Emeishan is considered one of the four sacred Buddhist Mountains in China. Take a cable car ride to the Golden Summit which rises more than 3,000 meters above sea level. Enjoy a panoramic view of the mountain surrounded by more than 100 temples and monasteries. Enjoy an Emei vegetarian dinner tonight. (B/L/D)

Day 13 Oct 18 Emeishan – Leshan
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Take an excursion to Leshan to see the Giant Buddha, the largest stone-carved Buddha in the world. A cruise on the Min River will give you a spectacular view of this majestic statue. Constructed in 713 by a monk named Haitong, it was hoped that the statue
would calm the turbulent waters of the River. The statue was not completed until 90 years later by his disciples. Return to Emeishan in the late afternoon. A Tofu dinner banquet has been arranged for your culinary delight. (B/L/D)

Day 14 Oct 19 Emeishan – Chengdu
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Return to Chengdu by coach, visiting the Du Jiang Dam en route. A healthy medicinal cuisine is on tonight’s dinner menu. Watch the Sichuan
Opera this evening. (B/L/D)

Day 15 Oct 20 Chengdu–USA
Buffet breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight home or extend your trip to another Southeast Asian destination. (B)
