Christine Heathman, C.M.E.. L.M.T.

A distinguished educator, master medical esthetician and leading authority for more than twenty-five years, Ms. Heathman's name has become synonymous with medical esthetics throughout the world. An influential leader in education and skin care research and development for progressive products and protocols, Christine has been a collaborator on hundreds of medical esthetic cases.

Her past affiliations for patient referral include the Stanford Medical Center Dermatology Department, St. Francis Hospital Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department, Bothin Burn Unit-San Francisco and the Institute of Facial Surgery, Salt Lake City and the University of Utah where she was the first practicing medical esthetician. Christine also works in partnership with several companies to raise the bar of skin care education and recently completed an intensive project for advance skin care training with the Nordstrom Corporation.

Multifaceted, Christine is also is president of Vision2Beauty that provides savvy and successful skin insight for medical spas, skin care companies, department stores, beauty schools and advises on state legislation for licensure.

Rebecca James Gadberry is an award-winning journalist, lecturer, and instructor of cosmetic sciences at UCLA Extension in Los Angeles, where she has taught since 1986 (course titles include Basic & Skin Care Ingredient for the Non-Chemist, Basic & Hair Care Ingredients for the Non-Chemist, Plants & Aromascience, Selected Topics in Skin Care & Sunscreen Chemistry, Selected Topics in Hair Care Chemistry).

Ms. Gadberry is a general member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC), where she serves on the Board of Directors of the SCC’s California Chapter and has chaired or co-chaired eight Scientific Seminars for the chapter since 1986. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Esthetics, Manufacturers & Distributors Alliance (EMDA), is an associate member of the Cosmetic, Toiletries and Fragrance Association (CTFA), and is a past president of the cosmetic executive organization, Beauty Industry West (BIW). She has been a licensed esthetician in California since 1977, where she was an advisor to the California State Board of Cosmetology (1986-1996) and the Department of Consumer Affairs, Bureau of Barbering and Cosmetology (1996-2000) regarding issues concerning esthetics’ curriculum, sanitation and state testing procedures. As Legislative Chairman for the EstheticsAmerica committee of the National Cosmetology Association (NCA) in the mid-1980s, Ms. Gadberry oversaw separate licensing passed for esthetics in over 20 states during a two-year period.

In 2003, Ms. Gadberry was honored as an industry legend by the American Aestheticians Education Association (AAEA) for her outstanding contribution to Aesthetics Education in the United States, and, for her paper “The Ongoing Quest for to Discover the Etiology of Rosacea with Implications for the Cosmetic Developer”, received the Outstanding Paper Award for 2003 from the California Chapter of the SCC and Chapter Speaker Award, 2003, from the Society of Cosmetic Chemists.

Esthetician, award-winning beauty expert, and Reiki Master Linda Bertaut specializes in bringing inner beauty to the surface while teaching others to do the same. As the founder of Bertaut Beauty, Linda is recognized as one of the beauty industry’s foremost authorities in the Reiki method of healing in facials. As a ‘Reiki’ Master, she has transitioned this ancient hands-on healing art of lasting stress reduction into a contemporary new ‘must have’
service for women and men at leading spas and salons. Linda leverages her expertise to provide a unique bundle of solution oriented products and services for today’s client. She helps beauty professionals add value to their services by training them in her signature techniques and all natural ‘Reiki-attuned’ products.

Linda has won the Image Industry Council International’s Award of Excellence and two awards for professional make-up artistry. Her experience includes launching Laura Mercier at Macy’s Union Square, The Elizabeth Arden Red Door Salon, managing the personal shopping division for Macy’s by Appointment in Northern California, teaching advanced esthetics and her own image consulting and make-up business.

Debra Buonaguidi is a licensed Esthetician with an ongoing Medical Skin Care Practice in Carmel Valley, California. She also holds a California State Certificate to teach esthetics.

Debra has coordinated and managed the startup of Medical Spas and Medical Esthetics Practices in spas and doctors offices including The Skin Institute at Pebble Beach, California. From training Clinical Estheticians and Nurses, to determining procedures and selecting equipment, she has been responsible for adding significant new revenue within the first year of additional services to the practices she has consulted.

Debra conducts hands-on seminars for Estheticians, and together with partner Barbara Howard, has developed the Debara Method – a proprietary system which includes education and hand-on experience with a step by step approach for specific skin problems, and a sales training program which incorporates professional sales techniques and home care product sales.

Gloria E. Gilbère, N.D., D.A.Hom., Ph.D. is a traditional naturopath, homeopath, and doctor of natural health specializing in EcoErgonomics, Environmental Health and Nutrition. She is internationally respected as a natural-medicine researcher, environmental health consultant, health journalist, and an authoritative influence in the discovery of the causes, effects, and non-drug and nutritional solutions for fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, digestive disorders, chemically induced immune system disorders, and specific skin conditions.

She teaches, lectures, consults worldwide, writes numerous articles for newspapers, health magazines and trade journals in the U.S., Canada and the UK. She is a keynote presenter and has conducted seminars on varied disciplines of wholistic health, multiple chemical sensitivity syndrome, sick buildings, and chemically induced immune system disorders. Her work has taken her throughout the U.S., Canada, China, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, England, Switzerland, S. Korea and Greece.

She has authored over 400 articles and is the author of many books including, Invisible Illnesses, and Pain/Inflammation Matters. Dr. Gilbère is committed to providing the latest natural, non-toxic health information and is a member of numerous organizations including the American Academy of Environmental Medicine, American Association of Nutritional Consultants and The American Naturopathic Medical Association.

Barbara Howard is a Sales and Marketing Specialist and Vice President of Marketing for mindbodytravel, a co-producer of the Advanced Skin and Body Intensive at Sea.

She has held positions as Sales Director and Trainer, Marketing Consultant and Marketing Director, As Vice President of Marketing, she has been in charge of concept, development and direction of production for all media. Throughout her career, she has been involved in creating, directing and producing award-winning projects in print and electronic media. Ms. Howard has written, directed and produced radio and television programs (national CBS and PBS). She is a writer and has written for publications such as Spa Management Magazine and Total Health Magazine.

Ms. Howard brings “client oriented selling” techniques to spa professional trainings and her marketing expertise helps spa professionals to identify, create and develop services and strategies to reach new markets and expand retail sales through relationship marketing.
